Eger discusses his awareness of Stokowski while a student at the Curtis Institute; his tenure as assistant conductor of the American Symphony Orchestra under Stokowski, particularly his role in the performance of Ives' Symphony No. 4; Stokowski in comparison to other conductors, only naming Monteux in particular; Stokowski's adjustments in orchestration; and Stokowski's responses to world events.
